Chanel’s College Qualifications

I’m qualified to guide students through the college admissions process because I’ve been through it at the highest levels of success myself. I earned admission to Brown University with a likely letter, which reflects not only strong academics but also a well-rounded application that stood out among a competitive pool. In addition, I was awarded the Banneker/Key Scholarship at the University of Maryland — the school’s most prestigious full-ride merit scholarship given to only a small number of top applicants. On top of that, I received the Gates Millennium Scholarship, a nationally competitive and prestigious award that recognizes outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and community service. These achievements show that I understand how to craft an application that resonates with admissions committees and scholarship boards alike. I can help students identify and showcase their strengths, position themselves competitively, and maximize opportunities for both admission and funding.

About Chanel

I am a first-generation college student from a low-income, single-parent background, and my journey has always been about pushing beyond the limits I once thought possible. From an early age I dreamed of making it to the top leagues and excelling beyond my greatest potential. That drive led me to Brown University, where I earned a full-ride scholarship. The summer after my freshman year, I was accepted into Facebook University, an experience that launched my career in tech. From there, I continued to grow, learn, and take on bigger challenges until I rose through the ranks to become a Senior Software Engineer at Meta. My story is proof that no matter where you start, you can achieve your goals with the right guidance and persistence. Now I share what I’ve learned to help others reach their own milestones in college admissions and in tech.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I know what it feels like to be figuring things out without a clear roadmap. When I was navigating college admissions and later breaking into top tech as a software engineer, I often wished someone had shared the advice I truly needed at the time. Coaching gives me the chance to be that guide for others, offering the kind of support and insight I would have given to my younger self. My goal is to help students and professionals not just reach the next milestone but also feel confident, prepared, and empowered along the way.
